Here at The Doors Group, we are a specialist external door manufacturer, supplier and installer, that has supplied beautiful doors all around the UK for nearly a decade. These doors are built to last and are only made from the highest quality CE marked components.
Although our uPVC and Composite Doors are UV stabilised to help protect them from decolouration and are guaranteed to keep their appearance for 10 years, there is one thing you need to do to keep them looking like new.
As this week saw the first day of spring we thought we would celebrate by looking at the correct way to clean your external door. All it takes is a few simple steps and you can increase the life expectancy of your door.
Once your door becomes dirty, you should clean it as soon as possible. Because of the weather, this means that you will probably have to clean your door more frequently in the winter than in the summer.
Washing up liquid that is diluted with warm water is all that you will need to rub the dirt off your door. Some liquid that you shouldn’t use included bleach and solvent as these are too harsh and could ruin the doors outer skin.
The cloth or sponge you should use to clean your door should be soft and nonabrasive. As harsh materials, like a scourer can scratch the door and ruin its appearance.
If you have a small bit of dirt on your door this can be easily and quickly used with a baby wipe or face wipe.
Unlike wooden doors, our uPVC and Composite Doors will never need treating or painting.
So, when your external door or uPVC Window needs a clean, just remember all you have to do is give it a quick wipe down with a soft cloth and warm soapy water.
