What is a Composite Door?

A composite door is an external door that is created by using multiple materials which have been chosen for their beneficial properties. They are different to uPVC and wooden doors, as these doors are only created by using a signal material. Thus, these doors can be designed without the negative associations that are attached to uPVC and wooden doors.

When it comes to the price of composite doors they do vary. But you are most likely to pay less than a wooden door but more than a uPVC door. You are paying this due to the cost of natural substances such as wood being rather expensive and uPVC material costing less money whilst offering less protection to your home.

The main difference between a uPVC and a composite door is the level of security they provide. Due to the different materials that are used within a composite door, they are able to offer protection that uPVC doors can’t. the glass within composite doors is usually toughened and double glazed to help protect your home and keep it warm.

When it comes to the verity of the styles and colours of doors you have more choice with composite doors. They are available in almost any colour you can think of and in a wide range of different styles; their outer skin can also be made to imitate wood.

Unlike wooden doors that can warp and wrap over time, composite doors are extremely durable and you shouldn’t expect to replace them anytime soon after their purchase.

Low maintenance

Like uPVC doors, composite doors are extremely low maintenance and require no painting or treatments once they are purchased. All that they will require is a wipe down with a damp cloth from time to time.
